About
Miss Elena
My music education
Born in Moscow, Russia, I studied for eight years at the National School of Music and for four years at the First Moscow College of Music. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and teaching credentials. I am a classically trained pianist.
Under my belt are 12 years of extensive training in piano, solfege, music theory, choral singing, music pedagogy, and many other music disciplines. Plus more than 30 years of experience teaching music in the United States and giving piano concert-lectures to adult listeners.
Prelude Music Studio in Los Angeles
In 1979, I immigrated to the USA and settled in Los Angeles where I created the Prelude Music Studio. Gradually, it became the largest music school in West LA. During eleven years in Los Angeles, I taught Music Workshop and Music, Mommy & Me classes at many private schools. I gave private piano lessons in my studio. I had a large following of piano students of varying levels and ages. Among my piano students were professional musicians, performers, and piano teachers.
As a performer and entertainer, I played piano at business and private parties, participated in concerts and shows.
Bravo! Academy
of Performing Arts
in Boca Raton
In 1994, I moved to Boca Raton, Florida, where I founded Bravo! Academy of Performing Arts. At Bravo Academy, I employed about forty teachers who taught music (piano, voice, guitar, violin, flute, and other instruments), dance (ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop), and musical theater to 600 students of all ages.
Concert-lectures about
famous classical composers
and styles of music
While being a business owner, I continued teaching piano, Music Workshop, and Music, Mommy & Me classes. Also, I developed a program of music lectures for adults – the concert-lectures about famous classical composers and styles of music.
I performed at Breakers and Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Boca Raton Resort, Woodfield, Broken Sound, Boca Pointe, Polo Club, Boca Grove, Boca West, and other prestigious country clubs. Also, I gave concerts for many societies and social clubs, such as Opus, National Society of Arts and Letters, International Club, Welcome Club, and others.
Living and teaching in the DC area
In 2015, I sold my thriving school in Boca Raton and moved first to Bradenton, Florida. Three years later, we relocated to Washington, the DC area, to be closer to our daughter and grandkids.
Here, I can concentrate on my passion – teaching piano and group music classes, and playing at parties.
Words from our happy
parents and students
“Dear Miss Elena, I gave you my three children to hold and to love. The gift of music you planted in their hearts will be forever with them! Thank you so much for everything you do! There are no words to thank you enough. All my love.”
